Meet the apprentices – learning and development opportunities at Pure Human Resources
To mark National Apprenticeship Week (5th – 11th February 2024) we put the spotlight on the apprentices within the Pure Human Resources team.
If you’re an employer looking to expand your team, offering an apprenticeship is an option with real benefits both for the business and the apprentice.
At Pure Human Resources, we currently have two apprentices!
As an HR Consultancy and Training provider, our team regularly advise our clients on the benefits of investing in training and development, and as an employer it’s something we are committed to ourselves. Offering apprenticeships are just one of the ways we put this into practice.
In this article, we put the spotlight on two members of our team who are coming towards the end of their apprenticeships – Kristie Ullett and Paris Halton – and share how they’ve benefited from the experience.
Kristie Ullett has recently been promoted to Office Manager. She says:
“I am currently doing an AAT level 2 apprenticeship in accounting. It has taken over 16 months, but I am now reaching the final stages. It’s not only teaching me the fundamentals of bookkeeping, so that I can assist with reconciling payment and raising invoices but also how to communicate using technical language and build working relationships with co workers and clients.
Being able to do this course as an apprenticeship has given me an opportunity to gain more valuable skills, not just in accounting, that I wouldn’t have been able to, had I just done this as a normal course.
It is a lot of work having to maintain a learning journal, document evidence and put together a portfolio, whilst doing your everyday job but, with the right working environment and the support of a wonderful network around you, having just been promoted to Office Manager from Office Administrator has been worth it!”
Paris is our HR Assistant and is invaluable support to our HR and Recruitment consultants.
Paris says of her apprenticeship:
“I am currently completing my HR Support Apprenticeship Standard which is equivalent to a CIPD Level 3 qualification.
The main benefit of completing an apprenticeship is being able to learn on the job and implement those skills directly back into your role and continually develop your skills in line with the business needs.
I am just moving to the final stages of my apprenticeship. Once complete I would really like to continue to hone and develop the skills I have learned to progress into a more advice based role.”
